Weekly Words 1-10-10

At times I get frustrated.  One of my many faults.  I dream big and want to have immediate results.  In the past, when I have prayed about this, the answer I have come across in the Bible have revolved around patience.  This week was no exception.

For some time, a small group of women at the large church in which I belong have been getting together to  make plans for expanding women's ministries in our church.  This group is planning a kick-off event to promote ministry opportunities for women in our church.  We invited and hoped that existing groups would embrace this chance to promote their events, missions, and Bible studies.  The event is in February, and as of this writing we have not heard from another group at church.

As we begin to scale down our plans and agenda, I was becoming disheartened.   Sure enough, when I began to do my Bible study for the day of our planning meeting, wasn't one of the focus verses stressing patience?  Once again, my heart was bolstered by His word and timeliness of the message.

So this week's verse is the very one that served as my reminder.

(NIV)2Ti 4:2  Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

I will meditate on this verse and do a word search on patience in the NIV to find a few more gentle reminders that everything is in His plan and not mine.

I found a meme on another blog with lots of participants for Sundays, Spiritual Sundays.

Ah yes, patience. Patience is something almost all of us need. Last week when I came home from mailing a package at the Post Office I told my wife to remind me to go try to mail a package every time I need to learn patience.

Ah yes, patience.
My goodness, I didn't realize this is the same way my husband started off his comment. After I typed it I looked to the left and there it was. I guess after all these years we think a lot alike. LOL
This is something we all want but none of us wants to go through what it takes to acquire it.
I'm glad you chose to share with us on Spiritual Sundays.
Blessings,
Charlotte

I like the layout of your blog. Beautiful! I need to be reminded of having patience more often than I like to admit. Thanks for sharing . God bless.

Patience, we all can use more of this. It is especially hard when trying to get something organized with other women.
God Bless,
Ginger

You have a beautiful blog!
Thanks for reminding us to be patient, since we live in a "I WANTED IT YESTERDAY!" world.

Patience... without it, there would be no food on our tables. The farmer has to possess a heart filled with patience. I need to learn that lesson.
